A Crown Fit For A King

Hi everyone, 

Thanks so much for popping in today. 

It is another busy day for me as we have our April online Class tomorrow 

and then I am demonstrating at Harrogate on Sunday. 

I will be using lots of fabulous Lavinia products 

and will be on the 

Stampers Grove stand

Today I have a project to share with you with a regal theme. 

I do hope you like it. 

I started off with a clean up piece of card…I used the pebble stencil and Twisted Citron Oxide ink. 

Next I added some stamping…

The mini crown is such a useful stamp..especially at the minute. 

I added some scenery, the moon  also some foliage. 

I used the Flourish stencil, some ink and stamped with it 

I love using stencils this way.

Technique Tuesday with the Bokeh effect

Hi everyone, 

Thanks so much for popping in today.

As it is Tuesday it is time for our 

Technique Tuesday video.

Today we are going to be looking at the Bokeh effect.

I have used this effect before as it is an old technique but I have been asked for an up to date video

So I have recorded one..

The Bokeh effect is used primarily in photography and is where areas of a design are blurred on purpose. 

You may recognise it from some adverts. 

There are many materials that can be used to create the Bokeh effect including white inks, 

White PanPastels and white paint..

Good to give something back.

Hi everyone, 

Thanks so much for popping in. 

Today I am busy getting ready for the 

Port Sunlight show tomorrow…

It is one of the best stamping shows around..

I will be on the Stampers Grove stand 

With Lisa and James.

I will also be in the main hall for a demo at 12-20.

I will definitely need a cheeky brew and biscuit after that. 

(Wish me luck ) 

I also wanted to let you know about my May online class. 

It is the first weekend in May, 

and will be on the Friday night instead of Saturday morning.

Just so that we can all join in with the Coronation Celebrations. 

Once a year all the money from my online workshop goes to Charity.

This year it will be my May class , 

and here is why….

As many of you will know our younger son Mikey suffered for many years with complex Epilepsy and at one point we were told that he would spend his life on permanent disability. So myself and Karl tried to find ways to help Mikey and eventually he started going to various local groups and eventually had some work experience at a local Gusto restaurant. He started off clearing the tables, and loved it so much he carried on going after his work experience had finished. He was offered a job and worked as a waiter, then behind the bar, in the development kitchen and then as a manager. He is now head of training for Gusto uk…and we are so proud of how hard he works. He still has seizures but we all have strategies in place to help. 

   Recently he has been working with the Together Trust, on his days off…

He has spent time in school with some of the children and even been showing them all about jobs in hospitality. He has told them his story…and because of this I have chosen the Together Trust as my Charity for this year.

All the money from our May Class will be donated to them and I am working on creating some art work for them to sell. 

   I just wanted to tell you Mikeys story , thanks so much for listening. 

I truly value your friendship and all your support…some of you ladies have been by my side for years, and have seen the struggle that we went through trying to get help for Mikey…I’m so glad that we found some. Now it is time to give something back…

More Magic At Midnight

Hi everyone,

Today I have some more inspiration for you,

Magic At Midnight 

Here I have used one of our scene-scapes…

And yes you can use these for the challenge

First some stamping 

Some trees at the base to ground the design and add depth 

Some extra stars, and some shading around the edge, 

Just to frame the whole design 

Some sparkle. 

I decoupaged her wings too

Hope today is treating you well. 

It has been a beautiful spring day here in Holmes Chapel.

It has been lovely spending time with my Mum. 

Eric had physio today, and he is doing well so that is good. 

Thanks so much to everyone for asking about Karl, he is doing really well, he is keeping up with his physio and is walking nearly back to normal already. 

We are building up his steps every day. 

Today I have a sweet treat for you. 

We are going to make a little wrapper for a bar of chocolate…
