W..is for Workshop....oh, and Wednesday...

Hi all, here we are middle of the week. Always a good day for me as it means Workshop Day.
Today, I was at HG Arts and Crafts in Poynton and met some new crafters along with some very good friends. It is always great to meet new crafters, although I do have to warn them how it takes over your life....
As promised here are the two cards that we made...

We concentrated on stamping, masking and more stamping....I wanted to share how many different cards can be made from just one stamp plate and two ink pads (I could have created so much more, I really had to stop myself).
We used, Live, Laugh, Love stamps from IndigoBlu also black Soot and Peacock feathers Distress Inks.
Thanks for looking today,..and I must say hello to Joan, a new
follower....I do get so excited when I see a new blog follower....(happy dance time).
See you soon.

Monochromatic ....

A quick post tonight, just where has today gone?
Hope you had a good weekend and managed to find time for some relaxation.
Tonight, I am sharing another IndigoBlu sample card with you.

For this one I used stamps from the stamp plate...Live, Laugh, Love.

I used simple stamping techniques along with Tuxedo Black and Gray Flannel Memento ink.
Ribbon, hat pins and an embellishment compliment the design.
I love the images of these stamps and I will be using them on Wednesday for the workshops at HG.Arts and Crafts in Poynton ..do come along if you can, if not pop back Wednesday evening to see what we made.
Until then, take care,
Jo. X

Fussy and Fancy Friday...

Today is my first time on the design team over at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog. Our theme today is circles.....
So what joy for me as Kay at IndigoBlu has a brilliant background stamp ...Circle Dot Background...here is the card that I have created.

I have used PanPastels to create the background and then stamped with Versafine Majestic Blue ink. The butterfly stamp, the flowers and the sentiments are all from the Live, Laugh, Love stamp plate. Ribbon, hat pins, Dewdrops and Glossy Accents add the finishing details.
Why not pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at the other design teams inspiration, better still enter the challenge.
Hope you have a good weekend and see you soon, Jo. X

Introducing Distress Markers

Good evening, and I must just say Hello to our new blog follower. It is always great to see new people.
Today's workshop was all about Distress markers and how to use them ..

This first card was made by using spiced marmalade distress ink and the honeycomb background stamped directly onto the card blank. A combination of five distressed markers were used to 'colour' the sunflower stamp (from IndigoBlu) a quick huff and then image stamped....
The sentiment is from the new Rocco stamp plate and the gorgeous dragonfly is from Live, Laugh, Love set of stamps. Ribbon, twine and a button finish off the design.

This second card was made by stamping the sunflower with Black Versafine ink and then using the distress markers to simply colour the image. The centre was stamped a second time, coloured in, cut out and then decoupaged on top. The corners of the card was stamped in the same way as the main image in the first card. Card and ribbon were added to add another layer.
As usual I had a brilliant afternoon of craft, good fun and chatting with very good friends.
See you all soon.

Clockwork....

Yes, me again, wow two days, two posts.....don't worry , it won't last.....
I just wanted to share some more of my IndigoBlu t.v. samples with you.
Did you manage to watch Kay on C&C on Saturday? As I had workshops I had to set my timmer and watch the show in the evening with a little glass of wine.....
The MDF clock and clock parts are just fabulous and can be decorated in so many different ways....

This is the clock parts....

And this is the brilliant stamp plate that compliments it...

Here is one of my decorated clocks.
Firstly I used a light coat of Gesso, then a coat of acrylic paint, ....then the fun bit.....how to decorate....
I stamped the numbers using Archival black ink,....I then used Versafine black for the images....I chose an image from the Alice 2 stamps as I thought it went really well. I added a little colour using my watercolour pencils .....to finish off, I added Glossy Accents to the face of the fob watch and then assembled the clock parts and hands ....battery on the back and job done....
The really great thing is that I have now had commissioned orders for more clocks to be given as gifts....how cool is that....

Here is a card that I made using the stamps from the clockwork set,
The background used lots of stamping and masking and some of the numbers had flitterGlu and Flakes added.
The little bird image is just brilliant and stamps really well, I can see me using this on lots of projects.
A little colour was added using ProMarker pens and once again I used Glossy accents to add shine.
Thank you for stopping by today and pop back soon.
If you would like any help or information on any of the crafty posts you can always email me on......jrcrafts28@gmail.com....
See you soon, Jo. X

FlitterGlu and Flakes.....

Hi, and good morning to one and all. No more snow today, but it is still very cold outside.
We have just taken Tess on a lovely long walk across the field and we are back home now in the warm with hot coffee and chocolate biscuits....(that bit is just me!)
Yesterday I spent the day at C.J.Crafts in Edgeley, where I ran two workshops using fabulous products from IndigoBlu.
It was great to meet more lovely crafters and you all took to the FlitterGlu and Flakes really well, I was so impressed.....
It was great to meet a fellow crafter Debbi, who is a Facebook friend, so good to finally meet you.

These are the two cards that the crafters made, using FlitterGlu, Morris Dance flakes and the Lollipop Tree Stamp.
We also used some of the brilliant background stamps and Distress ink....oh I have found a new favourite colour....peacock feathers.....so yummy....
Right that is all from me today,
Enjoy your Sunday and see you soon, Jo. X

A.T.C's......

Good evening and how are you? Hope you have not got too much snow. We are lucky in Cheadle Hulme and do not have very much, although I must say it is a bit chilly.....
I thought I would share this ATC with you. For those of you who came to one of my workshops at HG Arts and Crafts you will recognise the Artist Trading Card. Barbara Gray from Clarity stamps is having a monthly challenge and this months title is Trees are green or are they?
The only stipulation for your ATC is that it is a piece of Art Work and it must measure 2.5inches by 3.5inches.....

For mine I used a clarity stamp, double sided adhesive, acetate and Perfect Pearls. I do hope you like it.
Stay warm this weekend and have a good one, Jo. X

Blazing Poppies

I hope you remembered to tune in yesterday and see the brilliant IndigoBlu show from CHA.
I thought I would share some of my samples with you. I love all the new stamps but like the naughty mummy that I am, I have a favourite....
The Blazing Poppies stamp.....

This card was made by stamping in Memento ink and then some simple colour added with ProMarkers. Distress ink was used to create the background and a vintage button compliments the design.

This MDF heart was painted with Gesso, Acrylic paint then Slap It On was used to apply the stamped tissue. I used VersaFine ink and remember to separate the tissue to 1 ply.....gems and glossy accents add finishing touches.

The third piece is the lovely bird box. What a clever design for a money box.
I used the tissue technique again and added some string for the roof.

I really enjoyed making these samples and have so many ideas for this stamp.
I hope you stay warm in this cold weather.
See you soon, Jo. X

Obviously I was thrilled and said yes straight away, if you get chance check it out and even better enter one of the challenges.
I was thrilled to find out that another member of the design team is Sam Crowe who I met up with at the NEC last year.

Remember to watch Kay do her magic with IndigoBlu stamps on C&C tomorrow at 9pm...
Here is a little tease of a couple of my samples.....shhh. Don't tell on me!!!!!

It's a Sunflower Day

Happy Wednesday all, here we are middle of the week already.
How has your week been so far? I have been busy with work for my lovely Boss Lady. I have been making samples using some brilliant new stamps, that are being launched at CHA . You can catch a live show from California on C&C at 9pm on Saturday.....
Back to today where I have had a lovely crafty afternoon at my workshop, making cards using the Sunflower stamp from IndigoBlu.
This was one of the cards that we made and uses PanPastels to watercolour.

Here is an example of how the PanPastels can be used to make a background. The butterfly was stamped in VersaMark and then the PanPastel applied over the top.

Thanks for looking today ,
Happy Crafting, Jo. X

Meet Aloysius

Hello everyone, well another lovely weekend comes to a close.
What have you been up to? Things are as busy as usual in the Rice household with lots of crafting and football ( it is the males who are the footie fans! Just in case you were wondering ...).
Today, I am introducing you to my new friend Aloysius, he is the most gorgeous teddy bear from IndigoBlu.

Here I have stamped him in VersaFine ink and used Distress ink for the background, plus the Script and Ledger background stamps.
A piece of lace compliments the design, I do hope you like it.
Thanks for looking and have a good week, Jo. X
