Gelli plate workshop ..

Good evening , I have just got home from today's workshops at C.J. CardCraft in Edgeley, Stockport...
Thanks to all the lovely ladies and gentleman who came to play.
We made some backgrounds, and used Clarity Stencils to make a Christmas card.
( thanks Maria, this is inspired by you.)
I just added some colour to this one with Spectrum Noir pencils.
Just simple one colour...
Then we had a play with Embossing folders ....they are great to use on the Gelli plate....
Here is a closer look.
Plus this one..
And again, a closer look..
The butterflies are made from the copier paper that we used to clean our Brayer......oh yes Billy Brayer came out to play today ...
I even had a play with Kitchen towel...look at this print.....it looks fab ...I am sure you will agree..
I had a great day...thank you Glynis and Claire for looking after me and always making me feel so welcome...

Just before I go..I had some very sad news ...if you read my blog yesterday you know about Poppy ...well unfortunately she was found ...but is no longer with us...my thoughts and prayers go out to her owners...
Please be kind, it can be a cruel world ...
Love and Hugs..

Just a catch up.

Good evening , I do hope that your Friday is going well. Thank you so much for your lovely comments it is so good to get feedback from my blog.......and to think that crafters other than my Mum read it....

Also thanks for asking about my hand, well the Doctors surgery think that it could be Gout....oh now ....that doesn't sound very ladylike....I will find out on Tuesday...all I know is that it is really painfull.....and getting worse....best advice that they could give me is to keep off shell fish and red wine.....well that will be easy as I don't like either....just hope that I can get through two workshops tomorrow.....

I am at C.J. CardCrafts in Edgeley where we will be using inks on the Gelli plate, Clarity stencils and stamps....plus embossing folders...I will show you some photos tomorrow....( after the workshops)

I had a lovely surprise yesterday when Adam came home from work with these flowers for me.....when I asked him why...after thanking him....he said...Because I can and I love you.......( and yes...it did bring a tear to me eye.)

Today I have a couple of samples from The Clarity one day wonder Christmas show to share with you....

I do love this stencil,

Oh and these stamps...

Just simple stamping in Distress ink and dragging the colour with water..

Just before I go I want to share a photo with you. As you know we have a Labrador Tess and she is my absolute craft companion...she follows me around all day...

So when I saw that a dog had gone missing close to where we live I just wanted to help...

So on the off chance that anybody know where Poppy is or happens to see her...please get in touch....her family miss her so much and she is only a puppy...

This is one of those things that has really touched my heart and I pray every night that she will find her way home...

Thanks for letting me share that with you all,

As always I appreciate you taking the time to read this little blog, and for those of you that comment...well that really does make my day...

Enjoy your Friday evening...

Hugs.

In The Pink.

Good afternoon all, hope you are well...

We still have a leaky boiler here, so no hot water...fingers crossed that tomorrow will be the day that it gets fixed...

I did manage to post some samples off to Barbara this morning but as my hand is worse that ever I know they are not my usual amount....with the plumber coming again tomorrow and Karl being in London, the doctors will definitely have to wait till Friday....oh well... I know there are lots of people who are in pain so I won't complain....especially when I am so lucky that I get to play at my hobby full time....

So onwards and upwards....

I noticed on the PanPasel Blog that their new Challenge is....Pink, Pink, and more Pink.....oh how could I resist that...

So he is my creation....

Yes....rather pink!!!!

And these are the PanPastels that I used...

Magenta tint, Permanent Red Tint and Magenta Shade..

I started with a piece of Gelli card, The Bubbles and the Floral stamps from Clarity. I used VersaMark ink to create a type of resist....

Then gently sponged over with my pink PanPastel, this is a lovely effect and great for backgrounds.

This is what I made...

Then I added some shade around the edges for definition..

Next I coloured a smaller piece of card....

Stamped my sentiment with VersaMark, then added some more colour.

Next I added some more of those gorgeous bubbles this time with a white Brilliance ink pad..

I wanted the base card to match so I coloured it with the darker PanPastel,

The ribbon was coloured also.....

Don't forget that this is a great way of getting everything to match.

Some matting and layering, perfect pearls, white gel pen and Glossy Accents...

And those bubbles just pop....

If you would like to check out the PanPastel Challenge blog then you can find it Here...

That is it from me tonight, unfortunately I have a basket of ironing that keeps calling me!!!!

Enjoy your evening,

Hugs,

Tuesday 26 August 2014

Hello..

Hello there and thanks for looking in today.

I have had a bad start to the week with a leaky boiler....( thank goodness It waited until after the ice bucket challenge...don't know what I would have done without my hot shower )

Also I am suffering with a very painful and swollen knuckle...and yes...just my luck it is my right hand. It has been getting slowly worse over the last two weeks and today even stamping was difficult. Not good when I had samples to finish off for Barbara ....( Claritystamp are on tv on Sunday ) which reminded me that I still had some samples from last month to share with you...

This one was my favourite...and here it is on C&C...

I started with a piece of Gelli card, the oval aperture stencil and Sail Boat Blue Adirondack ink.

Next I started stamping the lamppost stamp , as you know I do love to stamp the frame on a card....

I do find it helps to turn the card as I stamp.

And keep stamping..this is what I created.

Then I stamped the church..

Added a little colour with Spectrum Noir Pencils.

The black border was added with a ruler and Sharpie pen, then the lamps were brought to life with some Glossy Accents.

And the card was finished.

Simple but effective...

Here is another one..this really is just simple stamping.....but so crisp..

And an envelope to match..

Right I am off now...as always I appreciate your comments..

Oh and remember to get your tickets for Catterick....just go to the Clarity Website....it is going to be another two fantastic days...

Sunday 24 August 2014

Not a usual Sunday....

Good evening all, hope you have had a good day....mine started in a local hotel where Karl and me spent the night. We have both been working so much recently that we have not been able to spend as much time together as we would like.....so we took Tess for a long walk around Dunham Massey in the morning and then left her at home with Adam and headed off. We had a lovely evening meal and it was great just to be together.

The deer at D.M are so tame.....they are beautiful...

Then this morning when I was catching up on my Boss Ladies blog....Barbara had posted her recording of the ice bucket Challenge.....if you haven't heard of this it is a pass it on Challenge to raise money and to highlight the dreadful disease that is Motor Neurone Disease...

She very kindly nominated her Design Team.....so sure enough....I did my bit....and Karl took great pleasure in slowly pouring a bucket of icy water over my head....just for fun I wore some fancy dress and the video is on my Facebook page. ...the funny thing is Adam did the recording and the first time .....there wasn't any sound....so we had to do it all over again!!!! Oh thanks Adam..

Barbara has set up a JustGiving page , I am proud to say that I have donated and so far over £1,000 has been raised...

Many others on the DT have posted their videos too....a real team effort...so please help us.....together we really can make a difference.....

Now do you ever get asked...Can you make me a card please? That was Mikeys question on Thursday....oh yes I said ....when for? .....tomorrow was his answer......so here is what I came up with....

With matching envelope..

And insert...

I started with a piece of Gelli card, used a stencil brush to add some Sail Boat Blue ink, and sponged the sun into place.

I used one of my make your own ink pads...to stamp the butterflies onto the card, also onto another piece of card ready to cut out. I also stamped the balloons ....and the sentiment...

Then Cut them out ...

Added some clouds with the cloud mask...

And assembled it all together...

How cool does the sentiment look ...in multicolours.....

Just shows you what you can come up with when you need to...and so quickly....

Now when we did this brilliant technique in the workshops I had trouble finding the correct sized bag for the ink pads....but I have found some now....good old Tesco...

And just the right size....

Remember the top tip from Maria....write the colours that you have used on a piece of card...

I am a bit obsessed with this technique....look at my collection so far..

Oh such cute bags....

That is all from me today...enjoy your evening.....

Much love and hugs...
