Decorative book corner

Good afternoon everyone and thanks for popping in today .
As promised I am going to show you how we made the decorative book corners on Saturday.

The corner stamps are perfect for these.
I have to say that I got the idea from the lovely Lynne Hammond, I remember she did something similar a few years ago.
Thanks Lynne for the inspiration.

I decided to use an old envelope as the base...
I don’t know about you, but I seem to have so many envelopes lying around.

Obviously the measurements depend on how large you want the corner.
I decided on a five inch, by five inch..

Then I made a diagonal cut .

This forms the base of my corner pocket .
I cut two triangles of card and then stamped on them .

Next I added some colour ,

Followed by some inking and stencil work.

And then some faux stitching

This is the front and back of the pocket .

Q

Finally I sprayed them both with Spray N Sparkle...
Just to protect the ink when handling it.

And to make it pretty .....
I do like a bit of sparkle...
Speaking of which last night I had a wonderful time with Fran ...
She made a Christmas Wreath....
We had such a lovely time together .

This is it in the day....and in the evening
You just switch the lights on.
Look

I love it Fran and can’t wait to see it hanging up in your flat .
I have a special Christmas workshop on Saturday with more friends making more wreaths...
I am really looking forwards to it
Especially the mince pies and Prosecco ..
Tomorrow is Hazel Grove workshops...more mince pies and crafting with friends...
Oh I am so lucky...
Take care all.

Group hug...

Christmas in Cumbria

Good afternoon all and what a wet and miserable day it has been here in Cheshire. I do hope that it has been brighter where you are.
The weather made the journey up to Cumbria quite difficult on Saturday , I must admit I was very glad to arrive in one piece, as there were so many accidents on the motorway and one just in front of us.
It was our Christmas workshop,
It is always a fabulous day with the Cumbria crew, but the Christmas party is even more special.

We started off with a nice.  Quick and easy card

Look at the fabulous colours,
After coffee we made a book mark...
Now the photo doesn’t really show this off so tomorrow I will blog a tutorial and all will become clear

We had a very yummy lunch...with homemade soup, sandwiches, quiche, fruit, lots of cake...and so much more
Thanks to everyone who joined in...and shared their recipes

Oh we do have some fun...great costumes...
After lunch we did some smooshing....
Just look at theses beauties...

And then a quick Christmas card to finish off

White embossing powder and Kraft card, so on trend.

I have Mikey and Fran Home for a couple of days so we are having family time,,,,
So I had better get on and finish the meal...
Pork tonight...
Enjoy your evening and pop back tomorrow...
Much love and hugs

Blue and Brown Winter

Good morning everyone, and thanks for joining me this Friday morning.
Today we have a new Challenge over at the
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog.
Our new theme is
Blue and Brown (beige ) Winter
And it is hosted by the lovely , talented , Tone.
Here is what I came up with

And here is how I made them .
I decided to make a Christmas card , with a matching tag...

I started my card with a piece of Kraft card....sorry but it doesn’t show up well when photographed

Then I created the landscape with a moon mask, some torn paper and blue ink

Next some stamping using a brown Archival ink pad

I do love the way the card is coming together

Next I added some snow , in the form of chunky white embossing enamel .

Some matting and layering...

And then I added a fabulous little MDF embellishment from Anna Marie designs, along with some ribbon.

And a little bit of stamping on the envelope.

I then repeated the process to make a matching tag

This time I added a few extra embellishments ...

I really enjoyed making these..
Thank you Tone for such a great theme....just up my street.

I would love you to go over to the Fussy and Fancy blog and check out the wonderful designs from the rest of the design team
Speaking of Christmas it is our Christmas party in Cumbria tomorrow..
My festive jumper is hung up ready
And the chocolates and Christmas crackers are ready to be put in the car.
I am really looking forwards to another great day, crafting with friends
 Thanks for visiting all
Take care
Much love and hugs

A lovely gift of a bookmark.

Good morning everyone , hope your day has started well.
Mine began with a very wet and muddy dog walk.
It has been another busy week so far with lots of workshop prep and some catching up with friends and family.
Tomorrow it is our last workshop at The Paper Warehouse in Kendal.
It is such a shame that the shop is closing, and I will miss Janet, Jane and all the lovely Crafters.
I am just so pleased that I will see so many of them at our Cumbria classes
I will be travelling back up to Cumbria on Saturday for our Christmas Party...
Sooooo excited
Are you getting organised for Christmas?
I have a list.....
and that it is so far....a list!!!!
So today I thought we would look at making a bookmark....
These make great little gifts

They can be personalised too...

I just  started by cutting a piece of Stencil card to size
And added a couple of corner flourish Stamps

Followed by another lovely flourish stamp

I then added some colour ...
First some yellow...

And then some orange

Followed by my favourite fine wine ink...

This is such a lovely combination..
Look
I also added a couple of dragonflies

And then some black ink around the edges

Next I added some colour

I do love the way the colours pop...
To help even more , a white Posca pen and some Wink Of Stella

And the finishing touch of some glossy Accents

As you know I do love the way that these little blobs dry
Here is a close up...

I do think there is something special about a bookmark...
Next week I will be showing you how to make a completely different type of bookmark...
So do pop back if you can..
I must get on now. Time for a coffee
Then I have a rather large pyrography order to get sorted

Take care everyone,,
Thanks for your continued support
Much love and hugs

Fridays tag

Good afternoon lovely friends and followers.
Today I have had a bit of a play day..just because I could...and what fun it has been .
Here is what I have made...
I hope you like it...

I started by taking an A4 sheet of stencil card some distress Oxide ink pads and some water...
I do love making these background...

I like to make a full sheet and then cut into it...
I die cut the tag, using a Sizzix die.

Then added some background stencil work

Followed by some ink blended around the edges

Some more stencil work...well it just needed some bubbles..

And then some stamping using a couple of my favourite Clarity Stamps,

Next I added a large moon mask and some black soot distress ink

And inked around the circumference

The bird on a branch is a die from Apple Blossom dies ...I cut two and stuck them together...
Then attached them to the card

I also added some white dots using my Posca marker...
Next came the embellishments...
I do love this part...

I used the Posca marker to add the white on the pine cones...it is these little touches that help to finish of  the design

A few gems and the tag is complete...
And I know just the friend who I am going to give this too..
Tea is cooking in the kitchen so I had better get on...
I have a lovely weekend planned with some crafting and lots of chatting planned with friends...
Probably some chocolate and bubbles along the way too..
Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned
Enjoy
And pop back soon
Love and hugs
