Time to play..

Good afternoon all...I do hope you are well today...and that you have a relaxing weekend planned...

Tomorrow I am off to C.J.Cardcraft in Edgeley for two canvas workshops...I do love going to the shop Glynis always looks after me and the crafters are so friendly...

I have made two examples so that the crafters can just play and create whatever they want too....

These Clarity Canvases are so brilliant to use....

I do love this butterfly stencil....

But equally I love this Lantern pods too...

Now the other night when I was having trouble sleeping , it occurred to me that this technique for canvas's could be used on MDF...

So I had a go....and I must say I am really happy with the results...

What do you think?

Just incase it did work ...I took some photos...so here we go...

MDF box and tag from the MDF Man....

Grunge paste through the Honeycomb Clarity Stencil...let it dry....

Add some embellishments...I used Sweet Lilac Flowers and Lace, metallic embellishments and one of those lovely little glass bottles...

Deep breath....don't panic...paint the whole thing with black gesso...

When dry....cover lightly with gold gilding wax...leave to dry....then buff....

Then add the colour using Alcohol markers ...I used Spectrum Noir pens and the eBrush ...

The colour is permanent ....and looks great because the gilding wax still shows through...

It really looks like a little treasure box...

And the flowers have dried really stiff....so it is very hard wearing....I can't wait to make another one....

Do let me know what you think...

We still have lots of snow.....so for those of you who like the Eric updates....he loves the snow...

And he stands out really well...

Right...tea break over....thanks for joining me....

Have a Good Friday evening...

See you soon...

Love and hugs...

Home from home...

Good evening all, a quick post from me tonight. I have just got home after workshops at Hazel Grove...

As always it was so good to spent time with this lovely bunch of ladies...we do craft but we also laugh and most importantly help each other...be it with a hug, some kind words or deeds...( and even have special puppy hugs....from Rachel's new puppy....)

We played with PanPastels today and revisited their uses....the first card used the resist technique whereby the card is stamped with VersaMark ink and then rubbed over with PanPastel...

We made a tri-fold card...this was the front,

This the inside,

And this the back....

I didn't even have to crack the whip today ,,,,they all made fantastic cards...In fact it was hard to choose the top of the class.....

This was our second card....some stamping and masking.....the background was created with PanPastels and then the colour was added to the cottage and fence using Spectrum Noir pencils...

The little faux gems are drops of liquid pearls...I am really using these a lot recently...

All the stamps are from Clarity....I do think the second card could easily be adapted to make a quick Christmas card...if I dare manage the C word...

I hope the weather is o.k. For you , we have had hailstones on and off today....and at the moment they are bashing at the patio door..poor Tess is not impressed...it is also very windy....poor Karl is on a flight back from Italy...mmmmm I think it may be a bit bumpy up there....

Thanks for popping in today.....I must go and get on with some food....

Take care and call back soon...

Hugs..

Elegant Lady in Blue....

Good evening....I do hope that you have had a good weekend...and made the most of the break in the bad weather...Karl and I have been on lots of dog walks ....including a very lovely one through the grounds of Dunham Massey...I do love that place....

I thought I would just grab five minutes with you before we settle down for the evening...and I have decided to share an elegant lady with you.....

This was one of the samples I made for the Claritystamp launch at CHA...using the new Elegant Ladies stencil, Elegant Ladies stamps and the mask from the Ladies Glasses Stamp set...

I have a thing about Sail Boat Blue Adirondack ink...I just use it again and again...( it doesn't go down well in a house of Man.Utd Fans!!!!)

I started by lightly brushing some colour onto a piece of Gelli card...

I added a small amount of Raspberry just to change the colour tone slightly...

Using a make up sponge I added some colour to the edges to add definition....and a piece of copier paper to make the pleats in her skirt ..

Next I stamped the pattern on her dress and gave her a neckline, waist, and shoes....( if only it was that easy In real life...)

The inner of the stencil makes a great mask....and protected her whilst I added the skyline....

Next I added some sky...

I quite liked what I have created but I felt that there was something missing...

So I stamped the flowers in the corners...and what a difference it makes....hope you agree..

All with one ink pad....I am going to do this again but with a different colours and see how they look...

Here is a close up of her dress....and then the skyline...

I did notice that Barbara has dressed one of these lovely ladies on her blog today too....

http://barbaragrayblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/sunday-best-let-play-dress-ups.html

Just before I go.....the coffee has just arrived for those of you who like to see Eric...here he was this morning..when I was trying to clean the patio.......he is now five months old...

And a close up...sorry ...I couldn't resist...he has to carry something all the time....bless....

I hope you have an enjoyable, relaxing evening....and that next week is kind to you.

Much love and hugs,

Jo. x

Wings and Things.

Good Morning all, here we are , we made it to Friday....the dogs have just had a long walk down the frozen and crispy fields...and mad Eric is now asleep......so it gives me time to have a chat.

Today it is a new Challenge over at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog...

http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk

The new Theme is Wings and Things.....and is hosted by my lovely friend Annie....

And sponsored by Sweet Lilac Flowers and Fresh Brewed Designs....

Why don't you pop over and see the brilliant work by the rest of the DT....here is my offering...

I started with this gorgeous Moonfairy Clarity stamp.( you need to use a permanent ink pad )

I stamped the wings once again.

Then using some Distress ink onto my craft mat , I began to watercolour the image....this is one of my favourite techniques....have you tried it?

See how the image takes shape...

And once the painting is finished....grab a piece of card or a tag and clean up your mat....

This is a brilliant way to create a 'free' background.....

Put that to one side and decorate it later .....

Meanwhile I stamped the word Dream from the word chains...

Back to the Moonfairy.....next I added some more Distress ink,

Now , I liked that ...but it did need something else.....so out with Jo's Bubbles stencil....

Is it just me ....or does that remind you of Aero Chocolate. ?

I cut the wings out and decoupaged them , then added some clear Wink Of Stella , oh I do love these pens....

Look what a difference they make...

Dewdrops were a must....and a suitable backing paper..

My background paper came from the wonderful House Of Zandra....I added some Distress ink so that it all matched...

The lace is from Sweet Lilac Flowers, .... http://sweetlilacflowers.blogspot.co.uk

The flowers are from their ' Darks...' offer pack...

I do love to just play ......sometimes this embellishment arranging bit takes me the longes time of the whole design...

I do hope you like what I have created and that you join in with the Challenge....you know Challenges are a brilliant way of sharing your work, making new friends and sometimes getting Mr. MoJo back....
Have a good weekend all,
Much love and hugs from me....
Oh and the Fish pie went down a treat , Adam even sent a text from work to say how much he enjoyed it....so that is one to add to my short list of meals cooked by me.....
Stay safe and warm
