Our second had been requested by a couple of crafters who wanted to use the FlitterGlu and Flakes...we used Autumn Blaze .The card was embellished with a spellbinder die...Grate Works...
If you would like to join in one of our workshops ...the next one is on ...

Summer!!!!

Good evening everyone....
What a wet, miserable grey day and to think that we are nearly in July...
On Wednesday, we made Summer cards at our workshops.

This first one used Distress inks , Distress stain, and stamps from IndigoBlu. Antique songbird, Take flight and script background.

The second one uses the take flight stamp again and the brilliant cloud mask from Clarity....if you don't have one....honestly you need one....such a quick and easy way to get clouds. We used watercolour pencils to add colour.
I hope you have a Good Friday evening and a relaxing weekend.
I'm all set for workshops tomorrow at C J CardCrafts in Edgeley.....
Pop back soon and I will post more photos...
Take care....Jo. X

Happy Post

Well, I have been a little under the weather recently but the other day I had a lovely surprise when the postman called, (yes that in itself cheered me up as he is lovely....in many ways.....).
He handed me a package from the lovely Jenny Mayes at Hobby Art Stamps.
New releases ....I was eager to play.
This is the first card that I made and I hope you like it...

The stamp set is called Sharon's Birthday Vase and has many wonderful individual stamps on it.

The background was made by using Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo Distress inks and then a couple of spritzes of water. The images were stamped with Black Versafine Ink and water used to take the colour out.

The main topper was coloured with watercolour pencils and I added Glossy Accents over the top.
Thanks for looking in today and hope we all have a good week ahead.
Cheers, Jo. X

Summer.....

Hi all and Happy Friday....I think we all deserve a 'Well Done' for getting through this week.
As it's the 21st of the month there is a new Challenge on the IndigoBlu Blog...
This month Kay has chosen Summer as the theme....
So here is my card.....I hope you like it.

I have stamped the Take Flight stamp in Versafine ink....Vintage Sepia and then made a mask....the sun is stamped by using the stamp Square Peg Round Hole and a mixture of Distress Inks.....Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed.
Whilst the mask was still in place I stamped the Wild Flowers stamp.
The images are all coloured in by using Distress inks from my craft mat and water colouring with them.

I did have to add some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to the bird....well, I just had to!

Some ribbon, glossy Accents and flowers from Sweet Lilac add the finishing details...
Have you entered the Challenge yet, you can get to it HERE,
That's all from me for today....
Have a good weekend and see you soon, Jo. X

Canvas Workshop

Yesterday, we had a crafty day in Hazel Grove decorating a canvas.
We used a flat canvas as they are much easier to stamp on...
Colour was added by using PanPastels, then Versafine ink and the Nature 1 stamp set from IndigoBlu was used to add the detail. Once the clouds had been added, an eraser was used to take the colour out and reveal the white cloud (as the regular crafters know....I do like my rotating eraser...).

I used blue tones and shades, but some of the crafters went for other colour options and I have to say that Mark's grey canvas, Janet's green canvas and Margaret's lemon canvas all looked stunning and I'm now going to have to try these.
Some ribbon, embellishments and it was finished...these really are quite quick to make and look great either on an easel or hung on a wall....
Also, brilliant idea for a gift....Birthday or dare I say the 'C' word.....yes.....
..........Christmas......
Speaking off which, have you seen the brilliant shows on Ideal World and C&C over the past few days...
Great to see all the new products and I still get excited when I see my designs plus those from the other members of the Design Team....fantastic job all....
Back to yesterday, we even had time to make a card....and this is it...

Using the same stamps, a bit of masking and an oval shape punched out of Linen card, we created this card which could be used for many different occasions.
Thanks for looking in today, I am off now to prepare for the workshop in Buxton on Saturday....
Just a reminder, that the following Saturday....29th July, I will be at CJ CardCrafts in Edgeley ....where we are having an IndigoBlu workshop using PanPastels, FlitterGlu and Flakes.....if you want to book or need any info just phone Glynis on 0161 477 7027.
Take care, Jo. X

Today, is the start of another Challenge over at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog...
The theme this time is.....Button Up......check it out HERE....
And here is my Design Team card....I hope you like it...

I have used this IndigoBlu stamp set...it is called In Stitches and is just perfect...

The background was created by using the reverse side of Centura Pearl card and randomly covering it with Distress Inks.....Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade....I blended them a little, then spritzed with water....
A quick dry with the heat gun then I added the images using second generation of VersaFine ink.....Vintage Sepia....again in a random fashion....
The button card topper is made using one of the stamps.....how useful is this this stamp?....

A few buttons, some matting and layering, ribbon, hat pins and job done...
As it happens this stamp set is featured in this months Craft Stamper Magazine...page 22, do check it out....great projects...
Well, that is all from me today...

Hearts

Hello all and a special hello to our new follower, I do get excited when I see that there is a new member to our little group..
Today, I am going to share a decorated MDF heart with you and talk you through how I made it...Linda this is specially for you....

This is the finished piece....I do hope you like it...

All the products are from IndigoBlu and can be bought on line or at local craft shops (there is a list of suppliers on the IndigoBlu web site).
First of all I primed the MDF with the black Gee So Good, this is such good quality that there was no need for me to apply Acrylic paint over the top. I then left this to dry..

Next, I tore some old book paper and use Slap It On to attach it to the hearts.
Left this to dry.

The Kroma Crackle is a clear gel, so I mixed some Acrylic paint with it to colour it....I used two different colours.

I poured this onto the hearts and swirled the different colours until I got the required effect.

Once this is dry, I painted it with Slap It On. This acts as a glaze and stops the Kroma from continuing to crack.
I then used the Vintage Flourish stamp, FlitterGlu and Autumn Blaze flakes.
I attached the small heart on top of the larger one, added some embellishments and some flowers...These were made by simply tearing a circle in card...Then tearing a spiral....rolling the paper towards the centre....and manipulating the edges to make petals...
I used a gold Acrylic Paint dauber to add colour around the edge....
I really enjoyed making this and the hearts do make lovely presents....
Thank you for looking in today, I am off now to write my post for the IndigoBlu blog as tomorrow is my day to blog....also, I have some samples to get in the post for Jenny at Hobby Art as she has some fabulous new stamps that have just been released....do pop back to see more....
Have a good week...Hugs, Jo. X
