Underwater Tuesday

Good morning everyone,
I do hope today has started well.
An early start here as Karl had to go to Birmingham Children’s Hospital to service one of their machines.
So I have walked Eric, watered my hanging baskets and recorded a YouTube video, all before breakfast.
Bet I will be shattered later.

Today I have another Lavinia sample to share with you,
Remember the stencil that we used yesterday.
Well today I am using my clean up card , and this is what I created.

I do love using the bonus prints.

So this was the stencil with the ink on it.

I spritzed it with water and placed it down onto a spare piece of card.

This is the result…so cool.

As Zelith is such a big stamp with so much detail , I used my stamp platform.

I used my Inktense pencils and water to add some colour.

Followed by gel pens for some sparkle.
After matting and layering , I added the sentiment, and some ink splats .
Just so that the whole  design was coordinated.

Sometimes, it is nice to just let the beautiful stamps speak for themselves.
Not bad for cleaning the stencil.

If you fancy crafting along with me today
I have a YouTube video to share with you.

So grab that brew, some card, inks and stamps and let’s have some fun.

Thanks for joining me today
Enjoy the rest of your day
Much love and hugs

A Monday Catch up

Good morning all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend.
Our workshop on Saturday went really well, and then yesterday I had a lovely day off.
Well, I say day off.
Housework and gardening.

Today I have a tutorial to share with you.
It is for one of the samples that I have created for the Lavinia  shows on The Craft Store this Friday.
The lovely Leonie will be demonstrating.
Thank you everyone who have messaged me and asked when I will be back on tv.
I have taken the decision to stop doing the shows.
(I just don’t feel confident enough after having Long Covid , it really has knocked me for six. )

I started by masking the area and stamping my images in black Versafine ink.

Gradually building up my scene.

Next I added some ink to the background and created the moon.

Then some stencil work, I do love to add gentle stencilling in the background.
Also some ink splats, you know how much I adore adding these.

Now I did spritz my stencil and get a bonus background.
( pop back tomorrow to see what I did with it )

Next I removed the low tack tape and started adding more detail using chalk pastel pencils.

Look how the shadows can be created.

The finishing touches were added using a gel pen and a posca pen.

Here is a closer look

Thanks so much for popping in today.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day,
Take care

Much love and hugs

Day / Night

Good afternoon all,
I do hope today is going well and that
you have a lovely weekend planned.
Today I have a lovely little piece of art to share with you.

I had a lovely email from one of my YouTube friends.
Bonnie Miller thank you so much
She gave me a bit of a Challenge.
You see she sent me this photograph and asked me to come up
with something using it as inspiration.
Yin/Yang
Day / Night

So I have been having a play...
You see I didn’t want to copy the piece but use it as inspiration and go on my own journey.

I started with choosing a tree stamp and the Lavinia Birch tree seemed just perfect
I added a couple of foxes too.

Next I used a moon mask to add the sun and the moon.

Then I added some background ink...
Using a piece of copier paper to keep the central divide.

Next I added some water splats over the whole design.
Followed by more stamping some some £1 stamps and Versafine Clair ink pads.

I added some more detail using my Posca pens and gel pens.

I was really happy with the way this was looking but it just needed some more atmosphere.
So I used my soft pastels and the side of my moon mask.

The final touches were added using my chalk pastel pencils.

I do hope you like it.
Maybe if you get chance you could have a go too.

Once again thanks so much Bonnie.

Tomorrow is our online workshop , I always look forwards
to these .

We are creating a little book , just for Pipin.

Must go and get my craft room ready.

Have a lovely weekend all.
Love and hugs
Special hugs for my Mum

My Favourite Colour

Good morning all.
Here we are the first of June.
So that means that we have a new Lavinia Challenge.
Our new theme is.

My Favourite Colour.
No prizes for guessing what mine is....
Here is what I came up with.

‘I Dream In Orange ‘

I hope you guessed correctly.
I started off with a tag made out of white board, and I added some ink.

Next I added some stamping , I thought I would use some favourite stamps too.

A little more stamping .

I added some colour using my Inktense pencils.
Then added some interest in the background by adding some stencil work.

I also added some water splats and
edged the design using a black Sharpie pen

Then I added some glitter using a quickie glue pen, plus a few Posca highlights.

Finally a couple of words from this very useful stamp .
Angelic words from Lavinia .

Here is a closer look

I hope you will enter the challenge.
Remember that the winner is chosen at random and wins £40 to spend on the Lavinia website.

Enjoy the rest of your day
Much love and hugs
