Shaving with Color

Good evening everyone, and thanks for coming to visit again.

I do hope that you have had a good day , I have just got home after a long walk with the dogs....I often wonder just how much of my week is spent walking the see I worry that I don't go to the gym, don't go to diet I am hoping that walking the dogs at least twice a day will help to keep me fit and healthy.....mmmmm I do wonder.

Anyway enough of that...and onto something do you remember last week when I had my first play with the Color Burst Powders? .....available on the Clarity website...

Well I couldn't resist trying with one of my favourite old techniques.... Shaving foam.....

And yes....good fun....

Here is my finished design...

So I started with a plastic container and some cheap ( tesco) shaving foam.

For this one I kept it also looks good when smoothed to a flat surface.

Oh look at the colours of the powders....

Then simply pull some prints..

This is the one that I used....choose your stamps...I do love the Wee Folk.

Cut to size and add some shading using charcoal pencils. This makes such a difference...

I also used the piece that I had cut off...

Next some butterflies..

And some bubles

Some highlights.

And my design is complete..

Here is a closer look....I do love this effect...

Also...I have a stash of papers ....

Plus this one...

And they smell wonderful too.

Must go and prepare some food...hungry boys and all that..

I do hope you have a play with these powders...and I would love to know how you get on...

Have a lovely evening..

Much love...

  2. Fab-U-lous! Never thought of trying these powders with shaving foam - thanks for the inspiration :)

  3. Love the way the wee boy appears to sit 'inside' an opening. It looks almost 3D. Amazing. X

  4. looks great. the charcoal pencils added so much dimension. i do love those prints especially that turquoise and yellow one, hugs xx

  5. Great card and fab backgrounds. Shaving foam is something I've not got round to trying out yet - you might just have inspired me :) Thanks Jo. Lx

  6. Lovely background and great card design Jo.

  7. What a great result from the powders and shaving foam. The charcoal pencil shading around your card makes it so dimensional, and I love the wee folk too. Thanks for your tutorial, inspired by this, I will have to give shaving foam backgrounds a try.
