Must have mask...

Good afternoon all, I do hope that your day is going well. I have just finished packing my bags ready for crafty play tomorrow in Hazel Grove. We have a couple of new ladies coming to join us, so I must try and be on my best behaviour. ( mmmm don't hold your breath )

Today I want to show you a wonderful new Clarity mask..The Spots mask.......it is just gorgeous....and can be found here...

http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Accessories/Clarity-Masks/19540-/Spots-MASK

There is a star one too...

As soon as mine arrived , I just had to have a play....now as I was actually really busy , I just used whatever was on my desk...so I hope you like it...

This is how the madk comes....oh bubbly chocolate comes to mind...

I wanted to try using both parts of the mask

So I started with the inner parts...

Then added some distress inks.

And some water spritzing...then removed the masks...oh I do love that...

Next I added some stamping,,,using the Wee Fairies ...

On a separate piece of card, I used the outer part of the mask

And the same three Distress Inks.

And then a word from the word chains.,

When I put the two together , this is what I had....I love both these backgrounds....so you have a favourite?

Then just to finish off I added a few dewdrops...carefully placed over some stars...

Oh yes , I can see me using these so much...

I really need to have a play with the Stars.....but Tess and Eric have other ideas....it is that time again...

Another dog walk...and it is raining..,.oh well...

Better get wrapped up...have a lovely evening...and thanks so much for joining me .....and even more for taking the time to comment....

Much love and hugs..

Mothering Sunday

Good afternoon all, hope you are having a lovely Sunday. To my wonderful Mum, and all Mums out there I would like to send lots of love and special wishes.

I had a lovely surprise last night when Mikey finished work early and came home with a beautiful bunch of flowers, and yes they did bring a tear to my eye. You see in knew that both Adam and Mikey had to work today so I had Said to them just to forget about it being a special day .

I have just finished some ironing, so whilst the soup is cooking I thought we could have a chat.

Yesterday it was workshops at CJ Cardcrafts in Edgeley, Cheshire, and we had a morning off MDF and an afternoon of Groovi.

As always I get so lost in the class and chatting to people that I forget to take photos. But thanks to Janet I have a couple to share with you.

These are lovely and very useful hook plates from Creativ, and can be decorated in many different ways. Here we used Chalk Board paint and some embossing

A great place to hang your keys...and then you know exactly where they are . They can be personalised with names etc...another great gift idea.

For our Groovi class we used the beautiful lace flower and netting plates....they can be found here...

http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Groovi/19661-/Lace-Flowers-amp-Netting-Groovi-Plate-Set

It was great to see so many ladies getting into the Groove ....and oh my ...it was so quiet...

Although I added colour to the first design , I wanted to leave this one just with the white work...and the space at the top is left blank so that a sentiment, name etc can be added.... I really do think that personalised cards are just so special.

I used the Clarity corner punch a real must have I my opinion.

Remember that Barbara is on HOCHANDA today and tomorrow with live shows and some really exciting new Groovi products.

All our snow has gone now , but Friday was a different story, and Eric was so excited...he loves the snow.

Tess , well, she really isn't bothered what the weather is doing....she just loves to run and play in the fields.

And look who I spotted , watching us from a tree.....

Such beautiful scenery

This photo , I am saving , as I want to turn it into Christmas cards.

Oh....my soup is ready....better go and eat it....still jobs to do , as I want to get to the bottom of my list ready for next week....Monday means a new list .........and lots on it already with workshops in Hazel Grove and Glasgow...

Enjoy your evening.....stay safe....and thanks for all the lovely messages , emails etc passing on your good wishes to Sheila, she is much better and sends you a big Thank you...

Love and Hugs.

Time for a puzzle,

Good evening all and thanks for popping in this evening. I hope your day has gone well..

I have been busy getting designs sorted out and emails sent ready for next Wednesday classes, and then tomorrow it will be time to pack up ready for our MDF and Groovi classes at CJ Cardcrafts on Saturday.

I would just like to say ...Good Luck to my lovely friend Emma , who is demonstrating the Groovi system at the SECC show in Glasgow...you will be fab Emma....much love and hugs......

So today I thought we could look at the new Jigsaw puzzles that are now available from Clarity. I am so pleased and relieved that everyone loves these, I thought you would as they had been so well received at workshops. There are so many different ways of using them or part of them....great gifts, and children love to design their own too....brilliant for parties...

These jigsaws are very addictive , it is such a good job that they don't come in single jigsaws.

I started by stamping the cockerel and hen stamps using Archival black ink,

The cockerel and hen were protected with their masks so I then I used the outer part of the large moon ( sun ) mask and added some colour.

Next came more colour.

And more.

Now one thing that I have found is that sometimes after adding ink you can see the odd mark on the surface of the jigsaw....don't worry....we can hide it....

Some spritzing with water is a start.

The Wee foliage stamps are just perfect to frame the design

I used spectrum noir pencils to add some colour to the birds and off course some charcoal shading underneath to ground them

Always remember to leave some white or light areas when adding colour.

Next I made a box for the jigsaw...but it was just white card....so I made a picture for the lid , using the same techniques, plus the letterbox stamps .

Sorry I had to take the photo in the kitchen ...as the sun was on my craft table ...look....

I glued the design onto the lid.

Then I thought about the base of the box....so I decorated another piece of card.

And glued this into the base of the box

Then I just carefully slid the jigsaw into position using a piece of tissue paper, pink off course.

Here is a closer look

I am really looking forward to seeing all your designs...we have so many stamps that will look great on a jigsaw.

I have made a couple more and I will share them with you soon.

Just before I go , I would like to wish my lovely sister , Sheila , a speedy recovery. ( she is my right hand lady for Clarity Cumbria ) As she was unwell on Tuesday and had a trip to hospital in an ambulance..

She is back at home now but still needs to take it easy...Thank goodness that Rachel was there...

For that I am very grateful...

Family is so important,

Love and hugs,

Jo. xxx

It's Spring .

Good afternoon everyone and thanks for popping over for a few minutes. I can hardly believe it , the first day of March and the first official day of Spring....how wonderful...the daffodils are standing proud in my garden and I am awaiting the noise of the frogs 'waking up ' in my pond....

Oh I do love this time of year , so much new life, so much hope of better things to come.

I have had a bit of a Groovi afternoon as I am getting ready for our workshop this Saturday...so I am all chilled out...

Today I thought I would share another sample with you from Barbara's show last Thursday.

I do love these new stamps, and they go so well with many stamps that I already have.

http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/New-In/19675-/Brilliant-Work-Of-Art-+-MASK---Unmounted-Clear-Stamp-Set

I started by stamping the frame...using black Archival ink.

Then added a moon or 'sun' mask and some post it notes to protect the sides of my design.

Then I created a landscape as we usually do..

Using the Wee trees and Wee foliage stamps I added some scenery.

I do love to create scenes like this....there are so many Clarity stamps that would work well at this point..

But I went for the words, and held my breath as I really wanted them to stamp well...phew...

Next came some shrink plastic...now you know how much I love to use this product,,,,I must confess that I stamped the Cockerel, hen and eggs....but when it came to using the heat gun, the naughty Cockerel flew away....I must remember next time and clip his wings first....

Some matting and layering and my design was completed, and Spring colours too,,.

So before I go , I just have time to wish all my Welsh friends a Happy St. David's Day and I will soon you all next month in Anglesey...

Much love and hugs,

Jo. xxx
