Such a lovely floral Bouquet...

Hi and thanks for looking in today...

Hope your week is going well, I had a lovely trip to C.J.CardCraft this morning...and such a laugh with Glynis and her workshop ladies...oh and gentleman....I really couldn't miss you out , Chris...

Then I had just time to drop some clean shirts off with Mikey..( .plus some food, ) and back home to walk the dogs...

A blog post now whilst I have a tea break and then Karl will be back from South Wales...and I have some Salmon ready to cook for his meal...

It is such a sunny day today so I thought it was appropriate to share this card with you...

I do love cards that cheer me up and make me smile...

It uses the lovely stamp set designed by our very own Julie Owens....the Silk Ribbons Bouquet...how delightful is this stamp...and it comes with masks too....

I started with a piece of Gelli card .....and stamped the main image...

Next came some background using Jo's Bubbles Stencil...

I randomly stamped the flower heads on another piece of card...and edged both with a black Sharpie pen...

Next I stamped more flower heads and extra bows....adding some pattern with the little stars...from the Wee Fairies...

Then colouring , cutting out and some decoupage...

How lovely does this look....The little drops of Liquid Pearls just set everything off...

I coloured the background flowers too...Note I always lean on a piece of kitchen roll ....it really is worth it , then you don't spoil your work...

And when it was all assembled this is what we have..

And the back of the card had to look good too...

Thanks for looking in....might even get another lot of washing on the line....I need to make the most of this weather...I bet it won't last....

Enjoy your evening...

Much love and hugs...

Jo.

One Layer..

Good afternoon and thanks for sharing a few moments with me....how is your week going ? I do hope it started well...

I am really enjoying blog challenges at the moment and you may remember that last week I joined in with the Less Is More Challenge.....http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk

Well the new theme is one layer....now those who are regular followers will know that I love using one layer....and trying to create a 3d effect....

The category is Water....

Here is what I came up with....do hope that you like it....

It all started with a piece of 7x7 Gelli card...I stamped the Tropical Fish stamp from Clarity...

Next I stamped the bubbles....yes I know I use this stamp so much...

As I don't have a mask for this stamp I used the wonderful Drawing Gum....it just paints on....dries really quickly ....and is water based ...So your brush just washes clean...

Next I used Jo's Bubbles Stencil with some post it notes...and added some blue ink...

I love to use a combination of stencils , so on with the Seaweed Stencil and more ink..

When the stencils were removed this is what I had...

The drawing gum just rubs away...To reveal clean card....like magic....

Next I added some small dots....see how it brings the bubbles to life...

And some colour to our tropical fish...Oh that does look better....

It still looks a bit flat....so out with the charcoal pencils....

Yes ...that's better.....and a drop of paint....

Job done...

But still one layer....and a flat piece of work...

And plenty of white space....

I do love cards like this that can have a sentiment added at a later date and can be used for a multitude of different occasions ....

Do pop over to the blog and check out the DT work also the rest of the entries....it is a great way to meet new friends....

All the stamps, Stencils, Paint and charcoal pencils are available on the Clarity Web site....

Thanks for looking in and I do love to read your comments and see what you think of my work...

Take care.....

Much Love and Hugs....

Port Sunlight...

Hi and thanks for looking in today....hope you have had a lovely weekend...

It was the Port Sunlight Happy Stampers show yesterday....this is such a great show....a magnificent venue and is a great place to meet up with friends and grab a bargain or two.....o.k. Or three....

As always it didn't disappoint ....

There were a few of us found loitering around the Clarity stand....Barbara and Maria did brilliant demonstrations as always. One of the crafters Susan, who comes to my Edgeley workshops at CJ Cardcraft managed to get an original piece of art work crafted by Barbara.....then she went back to have this photo taken....Looking good ladies....

Back to today.......I am sharing a little tag With you that I made for the last TV show...

It started life as tag painted with Aqua Tints and then sprinkled with salt and left to dry...I do love the effect that this gives...

Next some stamping....and then I added some interest into the background using Jo's Bubbled stencil and white ink...

The new Floral Boquet stamp...designed by the lovely and talented Julie Owens..has three separate flower heads with it...these are just perfect to stamp , colour , cut out and decoupage...

Some ribbon and a wooden bow finish off the design..

It is amazing how much texture you can achieve on a little tag..

Right better check on the dinner ......time to walk Tess and Eric...before we eat..

Thanks for looking in today...have a good week...and pop back soon...

Hugs,

Jo. X

Opposites attract...

Good evening and thanks for looking in tonight...

I have been wanting to enter a couple of blog Challenges for a while now...and one that I love to look at is the Less Is More Challenge..... http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk

So when I read the latest theme....Opposites on the colour wheel...I knew I had to get my act together..

I thought for a while about which colours to use and in the end I decided on tangerine and turquise...

Hope you approve...

I started with a piece of gelli card and some Distress inks...Firstly I used some low tack masking tape to create a border...

After some blending and then some water spritzing...I removed the tape..This is what I had....

Next came the stamping....and this one is my new favourite....and best of all ...our clever Mandy Branston designed it...oh how cool is she...( thanks Mandy...you star...)

Using water and the faux bleaching technique I took the colour out of the flower heads.....see the difference...

A white gel pen helps to add some highlights....and a clear Wink Of Stella pen adds some subtle glitter..

A black borders came next using a ruler and a black sharpie pen..

Some matting a layering a my design is finished...

Here is a closer look...

Do pop over and see the wonderful designs of the DT....brilliant inspiration...

Right that is it from me tonight...time for some catch up TV as it has been another busy day....

If you like this stamp you can find it here.... http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/New-In/18044-/Remountable-Shepherds-Purse-Clear-Stamp-Set---As-Seen-On-TV

Much love and hugs...

Wedding Day...

Good afternoon and thanks for calling in on this bank holiday....

I do hope your day is going well...both Adam and Mikey are working today so Karl and me have walked the dogs and spent some time in the garden...

Did you see Barbara on tv yesterday? What brilliant shows with great demonstrations and more sells outs....

And oh some laughter too...how Barb kept going with such a squeaky counter is beyond me...I would have lost it....

I thought I would show you the wedding set that I made for the show...

This is the front....

And this is the inside.....

I started by embossing one of the stamps from the Wee Wedding Folk..And one of the sentiments....Using gold embossing powder...

Then I added a little colour and background interest...using Jo's Bubbles stencil...well it would be rude not too...!!!

I repeated this several times just using a different sentiment....

I added some ribbon and a little heart gem....Here is the full collection...Notice the little envelope That is with the RSVP has been embossed too...

The inside of the card was decorated using cream card, some gold card, and a splash of ink....I also embossed the wee couple too...just so that it all matched...

I made a matching topper for the front...keeping the design the same...

I did like this but felt it just needed something else...

So I embossed a couple more images, cut them out and attached them ....yes ...that's better...

I do think this would make a lovely way to send all the relevant information....maps, gift list , hotels etc could also be included....

My niece is getting married next year and I am making the invitations so this has given me some ideas...

There are so many possibilities with these fabulous stamps...

Just before I go a little update on Mr. Eric ...aka shredder....he is full of the joys of spring at the moment, keeps getting me up at 6-30 am....and he loves to be in the garden...He seems to be growing every day too...

And still shredding!!!!!!

Tess is still good with him...and they play really well together...but she does love to have some quiet time...

I must just welcome our new follower....I am so grateful that you are sharing this crafty journey with me...only three more and we reach 200 in total....I will get some stash together and we will have a give away at that point....

Enjoy your evening...

Much love...
