Workshop - Ultra Thick Embossing Powder

Have you ever used Ultra Thick Embossing Powder or, is it one those products that you have bought and it stands on the shelf?
Our first project today was an easel card in which we made a topper by stamping with the Hobby Art Floral Sketches stamps, with Momento ink and coloured in with ProMarkers. We then used VersaMark and 3 layers of powder to produce a tile effect.
For the second card, we started off by colouring our wooden embellishment with ProMarkers, inking with VersaMark and then embossing with UTE. A piece of card was embossed with 3 layers of UTE and then, Mica Powder was added, this was then reheated to make it 'fast'. At this point, a stamp was pressed into the UTE and left for a few seconds to cool. This is a great way to leave an impression!
Just thought I would share this with you, 3 flower shapes were cut out from paper, formed into a rose shape and then dipped into my melting pot containing the UTE (melting pot = empty Hotpot Pie container!). It gives the effect of enamel.
Thanks for dropping by, see you soon. x

Mae

Hi, thanks for dropping by today. I would like to introduce you to Mae, she is one of Hobby Arts fabulous new stamps.
For my first card, I used Tattered Rose distress ink and random stamping to make the background. The main image is stamped on the reverse side of Centura Pearl Card, again with Tattered Rose and then water coloured.
Same Stamp, different look!
Parchment paper and white embossing powder were used to create this effect. Silver Mirri card and card candi finish off the design.
Hope to see you again soon. x

Postcards with a Sporty Theme

Today, I would like to share this gift set of Postcards with you. The box has been made from Centura Pearl Card and then decorated with stamped images.
The two stamps sets I used are both from Clarity Stamps, the post card set and the Sports set. This has a large stamp using the word 'Sport' and an assortment of smaller male sports figures. The central design was created by masking, stamping and sponging with Adirondack Ink.
Thanks for stopping by. x

Workshop - Glues and Mica Powders

These workshops started with a general introduction about various glues, tapes, adhesives and their uses.
We then moved onto Mica Powders and I demonstrated some of the many ways in which they can be used.
Our first card uses the Versamark ink pad to randomly stamp the background with Mica Powder brushed on top. The stamp set used is Floral Sketches by Hobby Art. A topper was made by covering a piece of white card with Versamark and then Mica Powder. The image is then stamped with more Versamark thus, 'lifting' the powder away and leaving the image in white.
This is such an effective technique and would look great with a variety of stamps.
For our second card, we stamped on double sided adhesive using Archival Ink and placed acetate over this. Turned the work over and randomly covered the area with Mica Powder of various colours. This was then 'matt and layered' and the card was finished off using a greeting from the stamp set. Hope you are having a good weekend.
