Different folds or Shaped cards.

Good morning all and thanks for popping in.

We have made it through to Friday....yah...and today it is a new challenge over at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Blog.

Our new theme is ....Different folds or shaped cards,

And it is hosted by my lovely and very talented friend Annie.....

We have a wonderful sponsor Wild Orchid Crafts...

So I do hope that you can join in....

Here is what I have come up with, I hope you like it...

I decided to go for a shaped card...

I cut it out on the Brother ScanNCut machine...and used Kraft card.

To add some contrast I blended some distress ink around the edges.

And then attached the roof tile pieces. Have you tried this Glue Gloss? It is fabulous , especially for tiny pieces of card...

Next I used some ribbon for the curtains.., and some leaves and flowers for the front garden. These are from Wild Orchid Crafts....

I couldn't resist this little gnome....he is so cute....

I added some bricks , just for finishing touches.

And finally the word Home, from the Clarity word chains...

I do think this would make a great New Home card...

The samples from the rest of the dt are amazing, I do hope you can go and look....http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

Or even better , I would love you to enter the Challenge...

I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Time now to get to the supermarket,

Have a lovely Friday....see you soon..

Love and hugs

Lovely ladies.

Good afternoon all, and thanks for joining me today...oh it is a very cold, wet, dark day here today in Cheadle Hulme.

It was a very muddy dog walk this morning...and I mean muddy...it took me ages to hose Tess and Eric when we got back.

Yesterday it was our Hazel Grove workshops and we used the Jayne Nestorenko floral stamps...I do love these...and yes I know I keep using them , again and again...

The frame is wonderful and it works with so many of the stamp sets...

We used dye based inks and water to add some colour, and I do love to add water droplets with either liquid glass or glossy accents.

These stamps are great for either 8x8 cards or even 6x6 cards...so versatile.

Thanks to Wendy we had some yummy cake too....shame our camel lady was away.....( when she finds out we had cake, she will have the hump....!!!!! Whoops ...Sorry )

Whilst we were eating cake Maria was on Hochanda , so I had to record the shows....she was using some wonderful new Groovi plates....these are the samples that I made...

I do love to mix and match the plates

The star template makes gorgeous 3d Stars, but I thought I would go for a card instead...just to be different..

I am just catching up on the shows, and I have to say all the dt samples were simply stunning..

I am off to Crookilleycrafts crafts this evening for a crafters catch up...so that will be good.

So I had better get a wriggle on,

Take care all,

Catch you tomorrow...it's a new F&F Challenge...

Love and hugs

What a day.

Good afternoon all, and thanks for popping in.

Yesterday I spent the day playing with stamps, inks and paints making samples for our Paul who is on Hochanda on Sunday. I got them posted first thing and that was another job ticked off the list. The next thing was the dentist, just for a check up, but when I got near the road that the building is on was closed so I had to park miles away and walk. Good job I had left in plenty of time, although it would have been better if it hadn't been raining. No treatment needed so next job was dropping off samples at the publishers. Off I went, more roadworks, and just as I was travelling through the roadworks there was a loud bang and yes, my tyre had burst ....the steering went and it took me all my time to avoid the cones and get to a near by pub car park..I really didn't want to leave my car in the middle of the roadworks,,,,, .thank goodness that Karl was local today and could come and put my spare tyre on...( and no we didn't use the one around my middle!!!!!)

I can tell you though it was quite an experience....and not one that I want to repeat anytime soon...

I did manage to get to the publishers, and a hug from Chris really helped my day.

So today I thought I would share a mini card with you...this is one of the 5x5 cards that I made to go in the Christmas box ....

This is the top of the box.

I do think that there is something lovely about these little treasures...also you get to use all those lovely little stamps that can so easily get overlooked....there speaks a little person!!! lol..

I do love the two new Christmas stamp sets from Jayne Nestorenko...the Pointsettia and the Holly and the Ivy...

I started with a piece of stencil card ( my go to card of choice ) and used black Archival ink.

And yes, my go to stamping technique...

Next I added some fir cones and then coloured them

There, that looks better. It just needs some flowers adding.

So I stamped the pointsettia border onto some spare card,

Added some colour and then cut them out.

Attached them plus a bow...and finally edged the card with a metallic Sharpie pen....

Quite cute really, and these little cards are a great way of using offcuts of card up...

For those of you who like die cutting , have you seen the latest edition of Die -Cutting Essentials..

I have a piece on fun children's cards using the Brother SanNCut and Clarity stamps...here is one of them

They really were fun to make and it was great to use such bold colours.

Right, I had better get on , it is our Workshops in Hazel Grove tomorrow , a day that I always look forward too...need to get things sorted...

Take care all,

Much love and hugs.

Mixed Media Saturday.

Good evening, hope your Saturday has gone well. We have had our Clarity Manchester class today and we used Grunge Paste with the new petite stencils . They were the perfect size for our project...

A Chalk board....

The frame is from Rob , the MDF man and is such a great project. It also doubles up as a notice board. The little pegs are a great way to display notices.

First we dabbed GP through the stencils, then added some embellishments....followed by black Gesso.

The inner MDF had three coats of black board paint. I find that three thin cots are much better than one thick coat.

There are lots of hidden areas to paint, hence team work...

We did have a laugh or too..

Who's been framed ????

When the gesso was dry we added a wash of watered down Inka Gold paint....and the finishing touch was some Gilding wax...

And I even managed to get a photo of some of the finished pieces...

It is amazing how much can be achieved in just a few hours...

Thanks ladies for a wonderful day , your company was just the ticket....so were the mince pies...

And when I got home,,,,poor Tess had followed Eric into a puddle on their walk...

And Tess really doesn't like to be muddy,

Enjoy your evening all

Much love and hugs

A beautiful box.

Good evening all, here we are Friday evening. I hope your week has gone well. It has been a funny old week hasn't it, who would have thought that Mr Trump would be triumphant!!!

Yesterday it was a lovely day in Kendal, another full class, and some new ladies...I do love to meet new crafters.

We started by making a lovely box, using the beautiful new Jayne Nestorenko stamps...

Here are some of them ( sorry I didn't get a photo of all of them )

Then after lunch ( which was very yummy , thanks Janet and Jane ) we made the cards to go inside the box.

Using a variety of the floral stamps

And a variety of colouring techniques

Some of the ladies loved trying Inka Gold paints, especially the splatters in the background.

I do love visiting Grosvenor House and I am really pleased to say that we have now got the dates for more Clarity workshops next year...

It was lovely to be able to pop to Mum and Dads for my tea, Chris my brother was there so it was great to catch up with him..

I am just off now to load my car ready for tomorrow's workshop....it is another mixed media class....and I am so excited...I have loved making this project....

Pop back tomorrow to see what we make...

Sleep well all,

Love and hugs

Poinsettia

Good evening all, how are things? It has been a busy couple of days here with lots of catching up with jobs from the weekend, plus some magazine work and sample making...and tomorrow it is our monthly Clarity workshop at Grosvenor House in Kendal. A day that I always look forward too.

We are going to use the new Jayne Nestorenko floral stamps, I do love these. So today I thought I would share one of my recent dt samples with you...

Guess what??? It is a wreath card.

And here is how I created it

I started with a piece of Stencil card and stamped in the 3, 6, 9, and 12 positions...

Then stamped in the gaps, do remember to turn the card, it does make it easier.

Next , I added some holly,

Some fir cones,

And some mistletoe

On separate card , I stamped and coloured the Poinsettia

And some leaves

And cut them out.

And then assembled them ...I do love this bit....( I love bakers twine too)

Here is a closer look...

As you know this is one of my favours types of card...

I was so excited when I noticed this card on the boards at the NEC last weekend..I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat...( not to be confused with a Cheshire housewife )

I must get on, just time for a cup of tea before bed.

An early start tomorrow.

Sleep well.

Love and hugs
