Workshop Wednesday...

Good evening all, and how has you day been? We had great workshops in Hazel Grove today and played with Clarity Stencils, Stamps, Stencil brushes , the Gelli Plate and yes even Billy Brayer came out to play.

We used Adirondack inks on the Gelli plate, here is a close up...

This Poppy card was created by first inking the Gelli plate with Stonewashed ink, dabbing with scrunched paper and taking a background print. Then placing the poppy stencil onto the Gelli Plate and dabbing ink through the stencil with sponges. When the stencil is removed this is what is left.

Then you just take another print.

How cool is that ? ....and even better, take another print to make an insert....

Oh I do love to play....

Again,

And again. ( thanks to Barbara Gray for the inspiration for this one.)

Right I need to get on now....it is a new Challenge tomorrow on the Clarity blog....so jobs to get done from my list....
Thanks for coming today ladies and Angela thanks for the yummy biscuits.
I need to write and schedule my blog post for 8am tomorrow.....
So see you then, enjoy your evening...
Much love and hugs...

Shrink that bike...

Good evening, I am still trying to get through my list of jobs for today...Karl is due home at 10-30 so I just have time to post this before he gets in....oh it has been a busy old day....and tomorrow looks like it will be the same again...

I am going to share one of my last show samples with you....

I used one of the small pieces of card that comes in the Gelli card pack....this is such a great card pack ....

I stamped the sentiment all around the edge and added some colour with my stencil brush and Raspberry Adirondack ink.

Next I made my backing card by repeatedly stamping the flower stamp using Memento ink.

I then added some colour using my Graph'It markers.

Next it was the fun bit, stamping the bike onto shrink plastic...I used Stazon ink. Added some colour and carefully cut it out.

Added some heat ...

Oh I do love this technique...I then glued it into place in the middle of the topper....

Have you tried Shrink Plastic? Have you any tips? I have....I cross my fingers....!!!

Talc can help , on the plastic before you stamp...

Right better get on..oh I forgot to say...Clarity Cumbria was brilliant on Saturday and thanks to the ladies that came...

Night all.....see you soon.

Love and hugs.

Blustery Day.

Good evening, I hope you are well this Tuesday evening. I have spent the day designing the projects for our second Clarity Cumbria on Saturday...and I am really pleased with them.....just hope the crafters will be too.

So today I thought I would share one of my favourite samples from the last Clarity tv show with you.

I used the very lovely Blustery Day Stamp set.

The border was created with low tack masking tape along all four sides.

Next I stamped the verse and the little girl stamp using VersaFine ink, Vintage Sepia.

Such lovely clear stamps.

Next I created the sky using the cloud mask, Latte Adirondack Ink and a sponge.

Oh I do love to make these clouds....now take the tape off and colour her dress with Distress Markers.

And stamp the foliage into place.

Next a brown line border and some matting and layering.

Here is a closer look.

Oh I really do love to create a Classic Clarity piece of art...

I do hope you like it as much as I do...

Thanks for looking in and as always I love to read your comments , have a good evening...shower and feet up for me....it has been a busy day...

Much love and hugs...

Happy Easter.

Good afternoon and Happy Easter to you all, I do hope that you are having a lovely Sunday.

Karl, Tess and me have been for a walk and spent a couple of hours in the garden. So now it so time for a spot of lunch.

Yesterday I had a lovely day at Crafts 4 U 2 Do in St. Helens, it really is a great shop and Chris the manager is very helpful ( he makes great coffee too)

Today is my brother-in-law Andy's 50th Birthday so I want to wish him a very Happy Birthday and hope he has a great day....

Unfortunately Mikey had a bad night last night and so he will be spending the day in bed, but here are a couple of photos of him last week....any excuse to dress up.....the things that he will do for a free lunch at work.....

And

If you were in Didsbury last Wednesday, you might have seen him.

Right I had better go and make a late lunch, enjoy the rest of the weekend, and remember to tell those special people in your life how special they are.....

Love and hugs...

A Spring day.

Hi and we are nearly at the weekend. I do hope that your week is going well. I have spent today getting ready for Saturdays workshop at Crafts4U2do in St. Helens...oh it's going to be good.

I thought I would share this card with you, it is one of the ones that I created for the recent issue of Creative Cardmaking.

I started by using Distress inks, a sponge and a sun mask to create the sun, then a stencil brush and some Adirondack ink to make the sky.
The cow parsley ( this is such a brilliant Clarity stamp) was stamped by using Wink Of Stella Pens.

I added the colour directly from the pen to the stamp.

Then stamped with it, and repeated until I had the number of flowers that I required.

This is such a great way to stamp and with good quality stamps such a Clarity Stamps there is no danger of damaging the stamps...

The sentiment was added, and then some matting and layering. Here is a closer look,

And,

There are five other card designs in the magazine, I would love to know what you think about them ...

I must just thank you all for the continued support and for leaving such lovely comments....they really do mean so much...

Oh and my Postman came today with new stamps and stencils from Clarity.....they look fantastic.....I just need some time to play....you will love them....but sorry my lips are sealed......

Enjoy your evening...

Big hugs....

A wheelie good Workshop.

Good evening all, hope you have had a good day. Today is our eldest son Adam's Birthday...he is 25...so Happy Birthday son. We went out for a lovely family meal last night, it was so good to spend the evening together.

On to today, it was workshop day in Hazel Grove and we started by looking at the new Wheelie Stencils from Clarity.

They really are such a clever idea ( Well Done Dave ) and give such crisp stencilled images.

This large one with the alphabet in upper and lower case is going to be so useful. I really need more time to play.....

We then did some embossing and made this card using the allium stamps from Clarity...

Next we did some repeat stamping...my new favourite technique with these stamps...

Have you noticed how many dragonflies the ladies had to cut out? Well it did keep them quiet!!!!!! ( well nearly all of them.....hey...Eileen!!!!)

Thanks for your company today ladies and Denise thanks for the chocolates ...I will start my Diet for France after Easter....
Have a good evening all, Karl has just come in so we are going to eat ....
See you again soon,
Jo. X

Monochromatic

Good morning all, hope you had a good weekend, Ally Pally was amazing and we were so busy...the stand was under this fantastic window and it all looked stunning.

We launched the new wheelie stencils, oh you definitely need them...
I am very lucky and got time to play with them ( more about that later in the week ).
On to today, it is a new challenge over at the Sweet Lilac Flowers blog.
The new theme is Monochromatic, so that means, tones or shades of one colour along with white and remember to use your flowers too.
Here is my take on the theme...do hope you like it.

I started with a piece of the Gelli card, I do love this card. I used the Allium 1 stamp from Clarity and began stamping using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. After each image I turned the card through 90 degrees and repeated the stamping.

Until I had four images.

Then I stamped the allium in the middle of the stalk, turned the card and repeated it again.

Until I had this wreath shape.

Then I added some shape to the wreath using the Allium 3 stamp and Dried Marigold Distress Ink.

Some matting and layering,

I chose these gorgeous orange flowers from Sweet Lilac and glued them into place with Glue Gel..I added some dew drops using Glossy Accents.

I decided to add a couple of butterflies and made them from cutting into one of the flat flowers, and used the stem to form the antennae.

Next I glued the butterflies into place and added some gems.

Here is a closer look.

And

The other D.T. members have made great projects and you can find them on the blog
http://sweetlilacflowers.blogspot.co.uk
Thanks for popping in today, I am off to get ready for tomorrow's workshops in Hazel Grove...

Have a good day all,

Much love, Jo. X
