Hi everyone,
Thanks for popping in today.
How are you keeping ? January can be a difficult month
Big hugs to all.
Warm ones…it is freezing here.
Today I wanted to pop in with a little design using a stencil and a couple of the new
Lavinia Mica Minerals.
Fabulous new Colours.
This is such a fun technique.
First of all I masked off my panel.
Then dabbed the Versamark ink through the stencil…
A dab is better than a rub as you don’t want to smudge the edges of the design.
No rush as the ink stays sticky for quite a while
Once I removed the stencil and put it straight into warm soapy water ,
I then added the mica minerals
Again this is a dabbing motion…not a rubbing one
I use a small soft brush which I keep just for mica minerals.
You don’t need a lot of powder on the brush
Remember you can always add more
When I looked under the tape , I felt the edges of the design were too white..
So I added a little bit of Lime Punch ink with a number 3 stencil brush
To tidy up any loose mica powder I gently brushed the design with a cotton pad
I find kitchen towel to rough
I stamped the sentiment and some butterflies
Added some gold splats using the powder and water.
These have such a shine to them
Once I had addd colour to the butterflies , cut them out and added them the design was complete.
Here is a closer look
This is a great way to add the mica minerals to a design…
If you haven’t tried it , I would love you to have a go
Enjoy your day
Big hugs
Jo xxxx
