C is for Canvas...

Good morning and welcome to our new follower, thank you for joining me and fellow followers in this journey of craft, coffee, cake and friendship....

Did any of you see Barbara's Blog yesterday ?. http://barbaragrayblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/a-crafty-whats-on-tv-peek.html

Well she announced that after the success of the two days Clarity Open Day in Kent we will be hosting a two day event up north.....yes in Catterick....tickets are available from the website. http://www.claritystamp.co.uk or by phone... 01732 868215......September 13th and 14th....oh how cool is that.....I am so looking forward to it.....

With that in mind I thought I would share with you my first ever Canvas ....I made this to stand on my demo table at the Open day....

Whilst I was in France with the rest of the DT many of them made a canvas....I was a bit scared as I haven't made one before....so I sat and watched...I took it all in, the way Barbara used paint, Maria and Sam used Grunge Paste and the way Mandy and Dee created a masterpiece....so once home , I had a play.....this is what I came up with and I do hope you like it....

As you can see I did it my way....well there had to be some pink and sparkle....

I started by randomly painting some Acrylic paint onto the canvas...

At this point I hadn't even decided on the orientation!!!!

Then I added some colour using the Petal Stencil....this is such a useful stencil....

Next it was just play adding various colours and parts of stencils...

And some Grunge Paste....I do like the green spreaders that Clarity sell....another must have....

Once dry I placed the stencil back into place and started to sponge on some colour....first with Raspberry,

Then some Wild Plum......remember to always dab the sponge on the Stencil first...just so you don't over Cook the colour...what is it my Boss lady says.....???? You can always add it......not take it away.....( Wise words )

I then drew around the image with my black micron pen....

Used Archival ink for some stamping....not easy on canvas......remember to either put something underneath or take the canvas to the stamp...

On pink card, I stamped the butterfly.....cut them out and then assembled them....

Perfect embellishment for the canvas...

With the addition of a few dewdrops...

Oh and one of those little glass bottles that I am obsessed with....

Finally a quick spray with Spray and Sparkle....it dosnt show up on the photos, sorry ....but honestly it just adds that something special...

Well there it is my first Canvas, and I have to say ...I really enjoyed making it.....I do hope you have a go ...it is great fun ....and there are so many stencils and stamps to choose from....

Thank you for joining me today....I always love your company ....and if you feel that you have time to leave a comment , I do love to read them too...

Have a great day, and spread some friendship and love....

Hugs, Jo. X
