Mushroom Magic

Good morning everyone,
Wow it is the first of April today...
I hope April will be a positive and wonderful month for us all.

Today we have a new Creative Challenge over on the Lavinia website.
Our new theme is

Mushroom Magic,
I immediately thought of fairy circles, that is what we used to call those
circles of mushrooms that grow in the woods,
I had a play to see if I could recreate one.
This is what I came up with

Here is a tutorial , so if you fancy joining me , we could craft along together.
Grab a brew, a snack, some stamps and ink,
and  let’s get started

I started by stamping my mushrooms in black Versafine ink.

Building up the scene , I added foliage at the top and then at the base of the design.

Then I added some subtle colour, I just love tones of Pumice stone ink.

Next I added the stencil work.
I do love to do my stamping first and then my stencil work.
Although a used Pumice Stone ink again , I had some brown ink on my brush, but to be honest,
I love the colour, It is just one of those happy accidents.

I used inktense pencils to colour the berries, and then out with my chalk-pastel pencils, to add some atmosphere.

I do think adding the shadows really helps to bring the scene to life.

Next , I blended more ink around the edges, I really wanted a dramatic edge to frame my scene.

Quickie glue pen and some Eco glitter, wow.
Look how wonderful the design is framed now,

Finally some glossy accents on the berries.

Here is a closer look at the design

A real magical piece of art,
I hope you enjoy crafting along with me.

Don’t forget the winner of the Challenge gets £40 to spend at Lavinia, and the winner is chosen at random.

I have quite a few jobs to tick off my list  today,
Then I am going to have a couple of days with Karl.
Hopefully we can do a little gardening, and maybe just spend some time, catching up.

I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing Easter weekend.

Make sure you look after yourselves

Much love and hugs
Jo xxx
