Good morning and welcome to June....hope you are having a great start to the new month.
I am, as Barbara Gray is on tv with two hours of Clarity, oh what a great start to the month, plus I have coffee and chocolate biscuits.
Thank you to all the crafters who entered last months challenge we had some fantastic pieces of work.
Congratulations to the winner and the top five. Remember that the winner gets a £50 voucher to spend at Clarity.
The new theme this month is .....Masculine.....
Here is my DT piece, I do hope you like it...
It started life as one of the throw away pieces from my Gelli Plate...(after seeing Barbara's blog, I now keep everything).....http://barbaragrayblog.blogspot.co.uk
This is the piece of paper.
I then stamped the British Isle stamp from Clarity on it, plus the compass.
Then I added some colour with Distress Markers.
On a separate piece of card I stamped the hot air balloon.
For the next bit, I used a glass cutting mat, a cutting knife and an MDF tag from Rob the MDF Man..
I put pva glue onto the tag and stuck the paper to it, then cut around the tag.
Then a light sanding around the edges.
Next I coloured the edges with Inka-Gold applied with a piece of cut'n'dry foam.
Then some stamping with one of my favourite Clarity stamps the Crackle stamp...honestly I use this stamp so much....if you don't have it ...you really need it....just visit the web site here...http://www.claritystamp.co.uk
The next step that I did was to add some splashes with Distress Stains....
On another piece of card I stamped the word Dream and cut it to shape, then coloured and decorated it.
I do love to use this film strip ribbon from Tim Holtz...,I added a little glass bottle of decorative sand and a metal embellishment.
And this is what I got...
Here is a closer look.
And
The other DT members have made so fantastic pieces of work, if you would like to see them just go to the blog...

ReplyDeleteMorning Jo.
Good job we crafters don't throw anything away!!
This tag shows how to get an amazing effect from what is essentially a piece of "scrap".
Love it Jo. Enjoy your couple of hours with Barbara on TV and then hopefully the sun will shine on you this afternoon in your garden. xxxx
Wonderful tag Jo, love all the details you have gotten into a small area. Clever combination of the balloon and the stamps. Just love it. xxxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful tag, Jo I love your beautiful clean style of crafting but now you've showed us you can do grungy just as beautifully...so much packed into a tag and yet still manages to look uncluttered because everything has it's place ... if I tried this it would look like a pizza with all the toppings. Hugs Annie xx
