Cute Christmas

Today has been another busy day at my craft table, but I did find time this afternoon to spend an hour in Bramall Park with Karl and Tess. 

Most of my crafting today is for the television at weekend, so you will see them in future posts. Therefore, today I am sharing with you some cards I made earlier......

They are all made from HobbyArt stamps which can be found at, www.hobbyartstamps.com

I have used ProMarkers to add colour and some embellishments.

Sewing Box

Good Morning, fellow crafters and blog followers, hope your week has gone well. Now for the weekend and an extra hour in bed......yes.....

Today, I am going to share something different with you, not a card but a box!

This is my first play with this type of technique so please be gentle with me...

But it is good to try new things ....So I believe..

This is my finished sewing box,
 

 

This is the inside,
 

 

And this is the front,
 

 

A base layer of Gesso and then acrylic paint is applied to the box to start with.

Then I stamping onto white Tissue paper. I used a variety of colours of VersaFine ink and the Sewing Mends The Soul stamps from IndigoBlu.
 

 

I then cut these out, and yes there were a few of them ...but I did have my cup of coffee at hand and my Labrador Tess at my feet.
 

 

I then used Slap it On, (this is a type of Matt, glue and glaze from IndigoBlu) which I painted on to the box, carefully placed an image on and then re applied a layer of slap it on. 
 

 

A final layer of of the Slap it on was applied over the whole box, this took about an hour to dry and has a Matt finish.

I do hope you like this, I really enjoyed making it and I am now looking around to see what I can cover next.

Looks Like Rain Dear

Good evening, well can you believe it, two blog posts in two days......whatever next!

Today, I am sharing with you a Christmas card made with the IndigoBlu stamp set....Looks Like Rain Dear. 

I started by masking off the Christmas tree area in the middle of the card and then using PanPastels to colour the rest. I then stamped with VersaMark and reapplied the PanPastels. After taking the mask away, I stamped the trees and the small deer. The large stag was stamped, coloured with ProMarkers, cut out then attached with foam pads. The ribbon was coloured with the PanPastels and then had a sentiment stamped on to it. The main sentiment was added and cosmic shimmer glue dots finish the design.

Workshop.....Film and Fibre

Hi, hope you are having a good Wednesday, at least it's the middle of the week. 

Today, it is the birthday of Wendy one of my regular crafters and the wonderful Alex who is my right hand crafter..so we had an extra special workshop.....oh and cake....thanks Julie...

Have you used film and fibre yet? Or is it one of those products that you have bought and just left on the shelf?

The main thing to remember is to use a permanent ink pad, I recommend the Archival, we used black.. You can use the film on its own, the fibres (shredded film) on its  own, or a combination of both. Glitter etc can also be added. 

Today we used the clarity butterfly stamp and made three butterflies with a combination of film and fibre , do remember to use baking parchment before you iron. We then cut these out, and do save your waste as this can used again. 

This is what we made....
 

 

The first card is a twisted Easel card, where we stamped the butterfly collage stamp in memento ink . This we coloured using ProMarker pens , added a butterfly, this was our topper. The background was stamped using the butterfly stamp and coloured in. A stopper was made and added  using foam pads.

The second card was made by making a mask and using Distress ink and a make up sponge to create the sky. The tag was distressed around the edge and then the sentiment was added. Another brilliant Clarity stamp. A butterfly and card candi were used to add the finishing details. 

 

These cards used inspiration from the fabulous Maria Simms who also showed me how to make the butterfly into a broach. Thanks Maria.....

Merry Christmas Tree

Hi, what a lovely Saturday morning, we have just had a long walk with Tess, and it is quite warm out and dry.

Well another eventful week in the Rice house, Mikey fell whilst playing football and managed to sustain spiral fracture in two metacarpals, complicated by a rather large blood clot. So two nights in hospital and an operation later, he is now home and sleeping like a baby. Thought you might like to see his photo, good job he is right handed!!!! 

 

 

Now to matters of a crafty nature. Today, I am posting a card made from the IndigoBlu 'Merry Christmas Tree' stamp. It is such a great twist on a Christmas Tree. 

 

 

I have stamped on the IndigoBlu black stamping card (it gives brilliant results, I really recommend it) with FlitterGlu and then used Morris Dance Flakes. These have been used around the edge and on the wooden embellishment too.

For the greeting I have used Copper Kettle flakes as I feel the words are better in a single colour.

Gold ribbon, cosmic shimmer glue and a hat pin finish off the card.

Please remember when stamping with the FlitterGlu to wash your stamp as soon as you have finished using it, ..... It is a brilliant product, can be used with any stamps and will not harm them in anyway.

Show us your Twinchie

Good evening, how's your day been?

Today I was visiting the blog of a very talented friend of mine...Eileen Goodwin.( if you get chance check out her blog..... eileenscraftyzone.blogspot.co.uk. )

She reminded me that it is time to enter the Twinchie Challenge, the theme this time is Spooky Stuff.

So this afternoon I got my piece of card 2x2 inches and got my creative thinking cap on. This is what I came up with.......
 

Firstly I covered the area with PanPastels and blended them.

I then stamped an image from the 'Hocus Pocus' IndigoBlu stamp set . I used a Onyx black VersaFine ink pad. The words are also from the same stamp set and are cut out from a longer verse. 

This is my entry for the challenge.

Yesterday's , Dabble Day.....

Hi, today I thought I would tell you all about yesterday's Dabble Day.

Part of my demonstration was based around the brilliant new Christmas Robins ...CS058D..stamp set from Hobby Art.
 

 

Here are a few of my example cards.... Oh, I could have made more!
 

 

 

 

The large robin is so cute and is great for stamping and masking.

This stamp set is ideal for all the glitters, glossy accents, cotton wool etc.

 

 

The crafters spent an hour using the stamps and trying various techniques, they decorated tags which then can be incorporated into card designs.
 

 

We all had a fabulous day.

Hi , Friday again....oh I do love my weekends....

A quick post tonight as I am trying to get through my 'to do' list.

Last Sunday I went to Harrogate and was lucky enough to attend one of Barbara Grays Workshops. Oh what a brilliant time I had, a good friend of hers  and very talented crafter Annette helped to run the lesson. This is the topper that we made and I made it into a card at home. 
 

 

Which leads me nicely onto reminding you that Barbara and Clarity are on C&C tomorrow at 11am , and Sunday at 9am and 2pm...

I will be recording tomorrows show as I am at HG Arts & Crafts in Poynton running a Dabble day .....Christmas with Hobby Art and IndigoBlu...

There will be a demonstration, with inspirational ideas followed by an hour where you lovely crafters get time to craft and ask questions....all for £2...

Workshop - An introduction to One stroke painting....

Hi all, how has your day been?

Mine has been brilliant, but it always is when I get to craft with my friends.

Today we had a insight into one stroke painting and made two cards using the rose design.
 

The first uses the IndigoBlu Crackle stamp and distress ink, with the roses as toppers.
 

The second uses the IndigoBlu script background stamp and has the rose and leaves decoupaged on top.

An Introduction to PanPastels

Hi, sorry I have not posted for a few days, but you know how busy things can be.....

The good news is that yesterday was my first (of many) workshop with PanPastels..I do hope that the 19 crafters who joined me enjoyed it as much as I did.

Have you used the Pans yet? Here are a few reasons why I love them...

They are mixable and come in a wide range of colours....with a colour Tint having white added and a colour Shade having black added. 

A large area can be covered quickly and blended beautifully.

They are pure pigment and are low dust.

They can be easily erased and combine well with other art and craft materials. 

After a short demonstration we made this card, using the Open Flower Stamp from Hobby Art.
 

 

The background was first stamped with VersaMark and the Pans then applied over the top. The ribbon was also coloured with the Pans. The topper was completely covered with colour, stamped with Versafine ink then the colour was rubbed out from inside the image. Dewdrops were added with Glossy Accents.
 

The second card was made by masking off the top and bottom of the card. The Pans were then applied in gentle strokes across the area..at this point I must mention the my card of choice is the IndigoBlu perfect stamping card, it is great with the Pans, with FlitterGlu and Flakes and ProMarkers (will add an extra card using these below) ..the flower was stamped as before.... The sentiment is from the Hobby Art Friends stamp plate... CS043D.
