Workshop - Alcohol Inks & Acetate

Wednesday was another lovely day of workshops, our theme this week was alcohol inks and acetate.

The first project was a card using double sided adhesive and acetate. The acetate was first coloured using alcohol inks and a piece of felt attached to a blending tool. The stamp set I chose to use was, Anna's Collection - Just for You by Hobby Art (this is my new favourite). Crumbled tissue paper was used as a backing before matting on blue card. Finishing touches of card candi, hand drawn border and stamped image were used.
This second card was created by initially colouring acetate as before. As acetate can be slippy to stamp on, the images are stamped on card and placed behind the acetate, attached using brads. Random stamping is used on the card to create a decorative background.
This technique can be used with a variety of stamps, images or decoupage sheets for speed.
This is a very quick card using just one layer of a decoupage image, as the background with the coloured acetate in front. We all need a quick man's card at some point.
Alcohol Inks are really easy to use and produce brilliant results, if haven't tried them, please give them ago. I can thoroughly recommend them!

Scrappy Friday

Friday, saw the second of my Scrapbooking Crops. This is the page which I created for a special friend, which features her daughter in a dance production. I enjoyed making the rosette and the bunting, both of  these techniques I hope to incorporate in future projects.
Once again it was lovely to meet up with fellow crafters and meet new ones, at this point I must say hi to Brenda.
This page was created by our newest member and I'm sure you will agree, she has made a great job of it.
It is always great to see new members, so if you live in the Poynton area do come along to our next crop. Tea and biscuits provided, it will be great see you.

Workshop - Brayer Roller & Clarity Stamps

Today may have been frosty outside, but it was lovely and warm at our workshops in Cheshire. Here are the crafters armed with their brayers (I provided plenty of wet wipes, kitchen roll and copier paper). My goodness, we went through alot of copier paper.

Our first card was an introduction to brayering for most of the crafters, we used Pesto and Wild Plum Adirondack ink pads, along with a masking technique to create the back ground on A6 Clarity card. Our chosen stamps for today were, the Medium Willow lady and Hanging Vine. As usual with Clarity stamps these stamp beautifully and produce stunning results.

Our second project was a homage to Barbara Gray, using Denim Adirondack ink pad and crumpled paper to produce the water. The reflection was created by inking the stamp up, transferring it onto the brayer and then rolling it onto the card.

We all had a brilliant time, came away full of enthusiasm and inky hands!

A Snowy Sunday

What better way to prepare for the busy week ahead than a snowy Sunday morning, walking and playing with Tess. I do hope that you have all kept warm, we are just off now for a warm dish of soup.
Cheers, Jo x

A Card for the 'One you Love'

With Valentines Day just around the corner, here is an ideal card. I have used one of Joanna Sheen's House Mouse designs, Happy Hoppers decoupage sheets. These are printed on top quality paper and are really nice to cut out and decoupage up. All you need to add, is a few accessories and a piece of ribbon to produce this project.
