Stencils,

Good afternoon all , thanks for popping in, it is so good to see you....

I think we can pour a nice glass of chilled water and sit in the garden for a few minutes together .

I have just got home after today's classes in Hazel Grove...oh I do love spending time with these ladies...

Mikey has just nipped in for a catch up chat as he is on his way to work....he is so pleased as he is acting manager tonight...I really can't say just how thrilled I am ,,,those of you that know me well and know how unwell he was just a few years ago...to think that the consultant wanted to put him on permanent disability....he really has done so well....he still has seizures but he manages them well and they are far less...

Just goes to show what positive attitude and determination really can do...

Back to toady, where we had a masterclass about Stencils...there really are so many ways that they can be used, with an embossing machine..., with grunge paste, with ink, with a Gelli plate,

With Inka gold....

Here we used the Leaf Wreath stencil and a kitchen sponge to apply the Inka gold through the stencil, I do find it easier to spritz the Inka gold with water first . Gives a great background and it is so shinny.

Inks are great and you can build up depth and perspective

.

Black Archival ink gives a bold effect and remember you don't need to use the whole stencil design

White embossing powder used as a resist works really well too.

And water spritzing to create the ghosting effect is fab for backgrounds.

One of my favourite techniques is to take the ink direct to the stencil, spritz it, then place in onto the card...

Remove it and let it dry...this gives such an unusual effect

And a great background to stamp on..., oh I could go on all evening...

Don't worry , I won't ...

Better go and water my pots and hanging baskets...

Enjoy your evening

Love and hugs

Jo. xxx
